In Arizona, all home inspectors need to be state certified. This means the Arizona home inspector has had a minimum of 80 hours class work, passed a written exam, had a criminal background check and performed at least 30 home inspections with someone else that was already certified. You read that right, 30 inspections. I have seen people marketing themselves as “Certified” yet their experience was in the plumbing department at the local hardware store, I met another inspector that was a baker for 30 years and started inspecting the week before I met him.
Professional Home Inspection Certification Is A Must
The American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI) requires more.
To be ASHI Certified members we have pass the same exam that the State of Arizona requires, abide by a code of ethics, obtain a minimum of 20 hours of continuing education every year and had to have performed over 250 fee paid inspections.
Our inspectors are all very experienced. Scott Warga has been performing Phoenix home inspections as well as inspections in Mesa, Chandler, Gilbert, Tempe, Scottsdale, and surrounding areas for over 10 years.
Scott is on the Board of Directors for ASHI and has also served locally as a district chairman and Vice President of the Arizona Chapter of the American Society of Home Inspectors and used to host “The Home Inspector Radio Show”.
